RE-WRITING NATURE’S CODE. GENETIC ENGINEERING TODAY AND TOMORROW

Conferences and Meetings, 13 October Chi c'è: Edoardo Boncinelli Mario Capecchi

The discovery of gene targeting, the first technique in modifying genomes, was a breakthrough for genetic engineering, revolutionized in recent years by the invention of the CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing tool that has made the procedure cheaper and faster. Now that the technology is mature, future generations will re-design medicine and food consumption, to construct a healthy future for all.
